The Museum of Folk Architecture is
located in the picturesque area of Donetsk Region. The old steppes
and roads here were trampled down by horses of skyths, hozars and
Kozak troops. Near here is the "Donetsk Swiss": Svjatogorsk Cave
Monastery and National Reserve.
This is an outdoor museum in the
village Prelessnoye. On its terrain there is a country estate that
represents the traditional countryside architecture of Donetsk area
and the everyday lifestyle of Ukrainian villagers : typical
Ukrainian peasant hut with thatched roof, barn, wind mill. Those
builds as well as household articles, clothing and dishes dating back
to the turn of the XIXth, beginning of the XXth century give one the
impression of a journey back in time.
